Superior, Cell Phones & Shots - Oh My!
Okay, everyone knows there is an unwritten golden rule when you're partying with your friends:
Don't ever let friends drink copious amounts of alcohol and drunk text.
Seriously. Take away the iPhone if you think your friend is inebriated enough to break this cardinal rule.
And so it begins. My friends and I always have a blast when we go to Superior, and when I'm there, I'm cognizant of the fact that they have killer margaritas. Because of this I'm normally on my best behavior, but... it was my birthday weekend, so I allowed myself some slack in this area. Plus, I've recently made a bucket list for my twenties that basically allows me to do what I want, when I want, and I'm putting it to the test; it's essential that I actually conduct this "research" for my blog. And Jack Daniels and I had some mighty fun research.
You all know where this is going... So after making all sorts of new friends, learning the Footloose and partying like it's 1999, it was time for me to call it a night. After much fun debate over 80s trends - my fave being the Trapper Keeper - my new friends, old friends and I shut the place down and we all called it a night by the late hour of 11:00 - Remember I'm old. And we all responsibly returned home.
I, however, was not ready for all of the fun to end, so I begin the dreaded drunk texting, which always seems like a good idea, but never is. Now before you make assumptions and judge me, there was no particular resolution I was looking for from my drunk texting, since I was contacting all of my friends with my thank yous, and telling other friends how much fun I had, etc. But it's still not completely appropriate to be texting the whole world and your exes at 11:00 at night.
Alas, after you've had a birthday margarita, birthday rum and diet, and girlie birthday shot of Jack Daniels, you think what the hell... You become completely captivated by the drunkeness birthday aura, and you just don't care.
So, I'm completely blaming all of this on my research for my bucket list blog. I am simply overzealous in wanting to accomplish all of the items on my list, and in one week, I totally accomplished #'s 11 and 17, and I've sort of accomplished #20 as well, but what girl doesn't love shopping therapy and shoes and plane tickets to Chicago? C'est la vie. Maybe I'm trying too hard to fit all of this in at once.
A little irresponsibility, Jack Daniels and texting never hurt anyone, right?
